Job Overview

This role is advertised as a Shop Manager but, on appointment, your job title will be Community Shop Manager. We’re looking for confident and influential people who want to be at the heart of their local community, seeking an opportunity to control creative merchandising within a Shelter shop.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and motivate a team to exceed expectations and deliver excellent customer service in a face‑to‑face role.
  • Recruit and develop a diverse team, supporting and motivating them to progress.
  • Engage with the local community to seek new opportunities to increase the shop’s contribution to Shelter’s cause.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Shelter’s work, and promote it through merchandising to attract customers.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience in managing a team and empowering staff.
  • Strong communication skills for community engagement.
  • Knowledge of recruiting and developing diverse teams.
  • Ability to implement inclusive behaviours: prioritise diversity and maintain an open mindset.
