Procurement and Contracts Director

The role:

We are looking for a Procurement & Contracts Director to lead procurement and contract management activities on our Morecambe offshore wind project. This is a senior leadership role for someone who can shape commercial strategy, lead high‑performing teams, engage the market, and help deliver complex renewable energy infrastructure at scale.

You will play a key role in defining procurement strategies, managing high‑value contracts, building strong supplier relationships, and ensuring our projects are positioned for successful delivery. This role requires a strong mix of strategic thinking, commercial judgement, leadership, and hands‑on experience in complex infrastructure, ideally offshore wind or renewables.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Lead procurement and contract management activities across the entire project, ensuring strategies are commercially robust, bankable, and aligned with project objectives.
  • Build, lead, and develop a team of procurement and contracts managers and legal advisors .
  • Own procurement schedules, key decision points, and reporting to support safe, timely, and cost‑effective project delivery.
  • Lead high‑value supplier engagement, negotiations, contract award recommendations, and final contract close‑out.
  • Work closely with technical, legal, commercial, finance, project leadership, and external stakeholders to secure strong project outcomes.
  • Promote consistency, best practice, and knowledge sharing across packages, projects, and the wider global procurement community.
Your experience:
  • Significant procurement and contracts leadership experience in complex infrastructure, ideally offshore wind, renewable energy, energy, marine, or major construction.
  • Proven experience leading teams and managing procurement activities across large‑scale, multi‑package projects.
  • Strong commercial judgement, negotiation skills, and ability to manage risk, value, quality, and schedule in complex project environments.
  • Ability to work confidently across technical, legal, commercial, and project interfaces.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the presence and credibility to influence internally and externally.
  • Knowledge of offshore wind supply chains, major construction packages, vessel contracting, electrical systems, steel structures, or floating offshore wind would be highly valuable.
  • Fluency in English, with strong communication and presentation skills in an international environment.
