Change Mental Health is looking for an experienced Service Manager to lead the delivery and development of our community mental health services across the Central area. This is a varied operational leadership role with responsibility for service quality, people management, performance, partnerships and continuous improvement across Hub and Outreach services.

About the role

You’ll oversee the day-to-day delivery of services, ensuring they are safe, effective, person-centred and focused on achieving meaningful outcomes for the people we support. You’ll lead and develop staff, manage service performance and budgets, monitor quality and safeguarding, and use data and outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement. You’ll also build strong relationships with commissioners, funders and community partners, helping strengthen referral pathways and develop new opportunities for our services.

As part of our Management Team, you’ll have the autonomy to resolve operational challenges, develop effective systems and procedures, and contribute to the wider development of Change Mental Health.

Essential
  • Demonstrable experience leading, managing and motivating staff to deliver high-quality services.
  • Strong knowledge of Scottish health and social care, including safeguarding, risk management and Care Inspectorate requirements.
  • Experience developing and implementing operational procedures and quality processes.
  • Experience building effective relationships with external stakeholders and partners.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • SVQ Level 4 Social Services and Healthcare (Adults) or willingness to work towards this if required.
  • Appropriate qualification for Care Inspectorate Registered Manager requirements, or willingness to work towards this if required.
Desirable
  • Experience working within or managing a regulated service.
  • Experience managing service budgets and performance frameworks.
What we offer
  • 37 days’ annual leave (pro rata)
  • Two paid Mental Wellbeing Days
  • Enhanced sick pay and leave entitlements
  • Professional development, including funded opportunities
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Blue Light Card eligibility
  • Support for flexible working and work-life balance

Hours are typically worked Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm, although occasional evening and weekend working may be required. The role may also participate in an on-call rota.

If you’re an experienced service leader who combines strong operational management with a commitment to high-quality, person-centred mental health support, we’d love to hear from you.
