40 Hours per week
-Monday to Friday, rotating shifts: 06:00-14:30 and 08:00-16:30
On-Call: 1 week in 5 (7-day cover with 2 days off the following week)
80% Workshop 20% Administration
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Workshop Supervisor to join a well-established organisation in Edinburgh. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in commercial vehicle maintenance who is looking to step into a leadership position, overseeing workshop operations and supporting a team of skilled technicians.
The Role of Workshop SupervisorAs Workshop Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the workshop, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will lead and support the team, manage workloads, and help maintain excellent operational performance.
Key Responsibilities of the Workshop Supervisor- Supervise and support workshop technicians and mobile engineers.
- Allocate workloads and monitor productivity.
- Ensure all maintenance and repair work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Carry out quality checks and provide technical support where required.
- Maintain accurate workshop records and documentation.
- Order parts and manage workshop equipment.
- Support performance management, training, and development of the team.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
- Previous experience in a Workshop Supervisor or Team Leader position.
- Background in HGV, LGV, or commercial vehicle maintenance.
- Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
