Restoration Forth Project Manager

Contract: Fixed Term Contract for 18 months, fulltime (35 hours)

Hybrid working: Minimum 40% in person collaboration per month

We’re excited to be recruiting a Restoration Forth Project Manager to lead the next phase of an ambitious marine restoration programme in the Firth of Forth.

Restoration Forth brings together communities, partners and volunteers to restore coastal habitats, including seagrass meadows and native oyster beds, and build stronger connections between people and the sea. Since launching in 2022, the programme has created a strong foundation for community-centred marine restoration. Its next phase will focus on expanding that work and increasing its scale, resilience and long-term impact.

As Project Manager, you’ll lead the development phase of the next stage of Restoration Forth, coordinating a complex, multi-partner programme across the Firth of Forth.

You’ll be responsible for keeping the programme on track, bringing together delivery partners, WWF colleagues, consultants, communities and funders around clear plans, priorities and decisions. You’ll oversee governance, budgets, risks, grant requirements, monitoring and reporting, while coordinating the work needed to prepare the programme for its future delivery phase.

A key part of the role will be building and maintaining strong relationships across the partnership. You’ll lead the project steering group, support shared decision-making and make sure partners have the clarity, information and support they need to deliver their part of the programme successfully.

You’ll also work closely with WWF-UK colleagues across conservation, policy, public affairs, communications, fundraising, finance and operations to connect Restoration Forth with wider nature restoration priorities and share learning from the programme.

This is a varied role combining project leadership, partnership working, grant management and community-focused conservation. You’ll also represent Restoration Forth at external meetings, events and, where appropriate, in the media, helping communicate the programme’s progress and ambitions.

We’re looking for someone who is highly organised, collaborative and confident managing complex projects involving multiple partners. You’ll be comfortable navigating different perspectives, solving problems and maintaining momentum, while keeping a close eye on the detail needed to deliver a high-quality, well-governed programme.

This is a fixed-term role for 18 months.

You’ll bring the following skills and experience to succeed in this role:

• Significant experience managing complex projects or programmes including developing and managing plans, milestones, budgets, risks and delivery priorities.
• Experience managing externally funded or grant-funded projects, including meeting funding conditions, reporting, evidence and compliance requirements.
• Experience managing project budgets and finances, including forecasting expenditure, monitoring spend and taking action to address risks or variances.
• Experience managing and coordinating multiple partners and stakeholders, including consultants, delivery partners, steering groups or cross-functional reams, to achieve agreed outcomes.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, facilitation and influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly, build agreement and maintain effective partnerships with a range of audiences.
