We have an Operator / Maintainer role available in the mill on the Crushing station. This role works on a rotating shift roster during the crushing season. Duties include undertaking operator PM routines that include inspection, monitoring, and cleaning of plant as well as recording data and sampling materials. Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, this role is part of the Shift Operating Team.

During non-crushing periods (predominantly between December and June), the person will use their respective skills sets (which could include Trades or high-risk ticketed roles), undertaking maintenance and Capital improvement works.

A requirement for this position is a high-risk Work license for turbine operation or to successfully obtain this license through Sunshine Sugar after training.

We are looking for:

• Turbine ticket
• Previous operating and/or maintaining experience within a processing plant would be beneficial
• Understanding of DCS control and its functionality is desirable
• Ability to make sound decisions based on a mixture of analysis, experience, and judgment
• Commitment and good attitude to safety and culture
• Willingness to follow directions
• Teamwork and willingness to share knowledge and expertise
• Organizational skills and ability to prioritize
• Sufficient physical fitness, sight, and hearing
• Ability to work in an environment with frequent exposure to noisy, wet, greasy, and/or humid conditions, as well as heights
• Flexibility to work rotating shift roster and be available for overtime
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Mechanical aptitude
