Cheese Supervisor

Location: Lactalis, Stranraer, Dumfries and Galloway, DG9 7DA

Working Hours: Full time – 1769 hours annually

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Cheese Supervisor s role involves overseeing the cheese‑making process, supervising a team of operators, and ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will have a strong background in food production, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

• Operate and monitor the computer‑controlled cheese‑making plant
• Adjust production parameters to meet quality and yield targets
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, health & safety, and hygiene procedures
• Supervise and support a team of approximately 5 staff
• Conduct training, appraisals, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate records and input data into relevant systems
• Champion interdepartmental communication and problem‑solving

• Supervisory experience in a production environment
• Knowledge of cheese‑making processes and equipment
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Computer literacy and attention to detail
• HACCP awareness and CCP training
• Experience in a Lean/Continuous Improvement environment
• Chemical handling training

• £16.10 hourly rate with shift premiums, equating to approximately £37,000 per annum
