Job Summary
Danone North America is hiring a Quality Lab Technician in Minster, Ohio. The Lab Tech will perform microbiological analysis on finished product and in‑process samples, gather samples from production, conduct analytical tests on product and ingredients, and assist Quality Engineers in disposition of product for production teams. The role also involves troubleshooting issues with viscosity, taste, pH, color, and identifying sanitation issues at the filling line.
Key Responsibilities- Perform analysis according to plan of control and record information to assure finished goods and in‑process samples comply with all specifications.
- Place finished product on "HOLD" status when results fall outside acceptable range, investigate potential causes, and propose solutions.
- Assist in disposition of hold products through retest or providing sorting instructions to production.
- Perform bench‑work analysis according to Standard Operating Procedures and standard methods.
- Enter analysis results into database and analyze recorded information to determine trends.
- Perform required environmental tests of Primary & Secondary Fluids as well as Air Quality.
- Perform audits on equipment, materials, products and procedures to ensure lab compliance with Corporate Quality Assurance and HACCP procedures.
- Maintain the laboratory in a clean, safe and orderly manner daily.
- Continuously improve lab methods for speed and effectiveness, eliminating waste while improving product quality.
- Conduct daily line tours and filler line audits to ensure machine compliance with site quality standards, evaluating potential risks to product quality.
- Provide consistent quality leadership to production operators, improving product quality and increasing technical understanding of key quality criteria.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the plant.
- Train others in quality‑related practices and perform other duties assigned by Supervisor.
- Associate’s degree in a science field or equivalent experience in a quality position.

- Fluent in English.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees at all levels.
- arithmetic proficiency in whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Proficiency in computing rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpreting bar graphs.
- Reasoning ability.
- Common‑sense problem‑solving in standardized situations.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) and scheduling software (WMS, SAP), and ability to complete computer‑based safety training.
