Location: City of Edinburgh
You will join as a Waste and Recycling Operative (Plant Operator) to assist in the safe operation of the Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plant. This is a hands‑on role, assisting with the practical intake, weighing, offloading & cleaning of vehicles making deliveries, sorting and loading of food waste arriving on site. The role will assist with routine checking and maintenance activities and be part of a team which operates the site.
ResponsibilitiesAssist with the practical intake, weighing, offloading and cleaning of delivery vehicles; sort and load food waste arriving on site; carry out routine checking and maintenance activities; work as part of a team operating the site.
RequirementsFollow health and safety and environmental regulations; maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness. Demonstrate a positive attitude towards Health and Safety and working with regulatory bodies (HSE, Environment Agency, etc.).
Preferably hold a driving licence. Telehandler experience and a certificate would be an advantage, but training will be provided if not already held.
Work ScheduleMonday to Friday and weekends on a rota basis. Overtime is paid for approved additional hours worked.

Job TypeFull time, permanent, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday working hours between 6am – 8:30pm on a rotating shift pattern including weekends.
SalaryUp to £28,500 dependent on experience + Overtime.
Benefits25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays per annum, 4% employer pension and x4 life assurance.
