Location: Divet Hill Quarry & Asphalt Plant, Northumberland

We're seeking an Asphalt Plant Supervisor to become an integral part of our team at Divet Hill Quarry & Asphalt Plant. Reporting to the Quarry Manager, this role is key to our operations, focusing on batching asphalt, performing general maintenance, and ensuring the smooth operation of our asphalt plant in line with our safety, environmental, and quality standards.

• Operate and control the asphalt batching plant in line with production schedules.
• Accurately batch materials (aggregates, bitumen, fillers) to meet mix design specifications.
• Monitor plant performance, temperatures, moisture content, and output to ensure consistent quality.
• Carry out routine plant inspections and basic maintenance checks.
• Adjust plant settings to maintain product quality and efficiency.
• Record production data, stock levels, and quality control results accurately.
• Coordinate with quarry operatives, plant operators, and site supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
• Identify and report plant faults or material issues promptly.
• Maintain housekeeping standards across the batching plant area.

• Previous experience operating an asphalt batching plant or working within a quarry/heavy industrial environment.
• Good understanding of asphalt mix designs, material properties and quality control standards.
• Ability to use computerised batching control systems and interpret production specifications.
• Basic mechanical knowledge with strong problem‑solving skills.
• Sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements within a quarry setting.
• Reliable, detail-oriented and able to work independently or as part of a team.
