The Role We are looking for a Health & Safety & Continuous Improvement Supervisor to join an established industrial manufacturing business in Shropshire. This is a hands-on position within a busy, heavy industrial production environment , so we are looking for someone who is comfortable working alongside production teams and dealing with the realities of a demanding manufacturing setting. The successful candidate will take responsibility for supporting and improving Health & Safety standards across the site , whilst also identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality and overall operational performance.

This role would suit someone from a heavy industrial, engineering, manufacturing, steel, metal processing, fabrication, galvanizing, plating, foundry or similar environment who enjoys being close to the shop floor and making a tangible difference.

Key Responsibilities Taking a proactive role in maintaining and improving Health & Safety standards across the site. Carrying out regular workplace inspections, audits and compliance checks. Supporting and reviewing risk assessments, COSHH assessments and safe systems of work. Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. Supporting compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.

Assist with COSHH Assessments Supporting the maintenance and improvement of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems. Working closely with production and operational teams to identify opportunities for improvement. Leading and supporting continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives . Identifying opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency, minimise downtime and improve production performance. Using problem-solving techniques Monitoring and reporting Health & Safety, quality and operational KPIs.

Supporting environmental compliance and site improvement initiatives. Providing guidance and support to employees on Health & Safety procedures and best practice. Challenging unsafe practices and ensuring agreed corrective actions are followed through. Maintaining accurate records, reports and compliance documentation. Working with management and shop-floor teams to ensure improvements are practical, achievable and embedded into everyday operations. About You We are looking for someone who is practical, resilient and confident working in a strong industrial environment .

Ideally, you will have experience within a heavy manufacturing, engineering or industrial setting , rather than coming purely from an office-based Health & Safety or compliance background. You may currently be working as a:

Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or heavy industrial environment . Strong knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and legislation. Experience carrying out audits, inspections, investigations and corrective actions.

Experience with ISO management systems, particularly 9001, 14001 and/or 45001 .
