Job Description & How to Apply Below
We’re looking for an experienced Aluminium Fabricator to join our workshop team, building commercial aluminium swing and sliding door sets. Reporting to our Head of Fabrication, you’ll work across the full fabrication process: learning to design the door sets, cutting and prepping the aluminium, and assembling and glazing the finished product. This is a hands‑on role with a clear path forward to grow into a leadership position within Entec.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Entrance Design
Work from and learn to produce fabrication drawings for commercial aluminium door sets, translating survey info and specifications into accurate, buildable designs. - Cutting & Preparation
Cut and prep aluminium profiles to specification: accurate measuring, marking, machining and preparation of components ready for painting and assembly. - Assembly & Glazing
Assemble swing and sliding door sets to a high standard of finish, including glazing, and prepare completed units for delivery to site. - Quality & Accuracy
Take ownership of the quality of your work, checking finished door sets against drawings and specifications before they leave the workshop. - Workshop Collaboration
Work closely with the fabrication team and project managers to keep jobs moving and meet installation dates – from building to loading and delivering when needed.
- You have hands‑on experience (3 years minimum) in aluminium fabrication, or a carpentry or joinery background with transferable design and fabrication skills.
- You’re confident and safe working with workshop machinery and tools: punch tools, mitre saws, copy routers and pillar drills.
- You’re confident working from technical drawings and specifications. You have experience with basic design work and a willingness to develop these skills further.
- You demonstrate strong attention to detail. You’re accurate, methodical, and focused on quality of finish.
- You communicate clearly, work collaboratively, and take on feedback. You’re a team player and have ambition to progress into a leadership role within the workshop.
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to read and produce technical drawings (CAD or by hand).
- Experience working with Jack Aluminium commercial door profiles (JD47 and TD68).
- Qualified to operate a counterbalance forklift (Category B1).
- 37.5 working hours per week
- 08:00 to 16:30 with a 1-hour lunch break, Monday to Friday
- Capable of safely lifting and moving aluminium door sets and glazed units
- Full UK driving licence – needed for collecting and delivering materials
- Right to work in the UK
- A competitive hourly rate plus paid overtime and performance bonus
- Enhanced holiday starting at 22 days plus bank holidays, increasing to 25 with service
- A clear path to progress into a leadership role as the workshop grows
- A collaborative team culture that values innovation and excellence
Our team of specialists are here to help from our office in Middlesex.
Office hours are Monday to Friday — 8am to 5:30pm
