JOB SUMMARYThe Marketing Manager is a newly created role and sits within the communications side of the Brand & Communications team, which includes the Communications Manager, the Brand & Digital Marketing Manager, the Communications & Social Media Assistant, and four events professionals. The communications and events teams work closely together and are responsible for developing and delivering Scotland Food & Drink’s brand, events and communications campaigns to support membership engagement, the food and drink sector, and the organisation’s industry profile.
The role leads on marketing delivery for The Knowledge Bank, the Scotland Food & Drink Partnership’s Net Zero Commitment, the Scottish Organic Action Plan 2026 - 2029 and the industry’s delivery plan, and involves planning, creating and overseeing content across digital and brand channels to achieve campaign and organisational objectives.
Working closely with the Head of Brand & Communications, the postholder leads the marketing, communications and social media strategy for these programmes, including content creation, campaign management, performance analysis, and reporting. The role also works closely with the Communications Manager and the Communications & Social Media Assistant to ensure consistency across all of Scotland Food & Drink’s delivery channels, as well as being responsible for liaising with external agencies to deliver digital campaigns and creative assets where required.
The role also includes leading the strategy and development of the programme’s web pages and websites, ensuring content is maintained and aligned with organisational objectives. Close collaboration with colleagues across teams is required to coordinate communications and promotion of Scotland Food & Drink activities and initiatives.
ABOUT THE ROLEYour day-to-day responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Campaign Planning & Management: Lead the planning and coordination of marketing campaigns, creating actionable briefings and ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and KPIs. Collaborate with internal departments and creative agencies to develop campaign concepts and deliver multi-channel campaigns effectively.
- Brand & Digital execution: Monitor execution across all aspects of the marketing mix, including digital, brand marketing and production of materials. Ensure campaigns are delivered on time, on budget and meet agreed quality standards.
- Analysis & Reporting: Analyse campaign performance and insights, producing clear reports for internal stakeholders. Recommend and implement continuous improvements to optimise campaign impact.
- Relationship Management: As the ‘in house’ agency for the full Scotland Food & Drink team, the role requires maintaing regular communication with team members and stakeholders, providing updates on campaign status and anticipated resource requirements. Support colleagues in integrating activity across teams to achieve strategic objectives.
- Brand & Content Management: As the brand ‘guardian’ for Scotland Food & Drink, the role requires ensuring a consistent tone of voice and brand identity across all communication materials, supporting industry leadership positioning and membership engagement. As part of a small, dynamic team, create assets, content and contribute to the development and implementation of content and social media strategies, including website management.
- Project & Event Support: Collaborate with the Head of Brand and Communications and wider team on large-scale organisational projects, including membership communications, conferences, awards and Showcasing Scotland events. Support planning and content integration for associated digital campaigns.
