Ambitious Corporate Communications Manager wanted to drive real impact in PR & Communications from Edinburgh.
Corporate reputations are won and lost in hours now, not weeks. A growing SME in the PR & Communications space is looking for a Corporate Communications Manager to take ownership of how it talks to the world, from boardroom messaging to media relationships. This isn't a junior support role. You'll be shaping narrative, not just distributing it.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:- Lead corporate messaging across press releases, statements, and senior leadership communications
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, trade press, and key industry commentators
- Manage reputational risk and respond fast when a story needs handling
- Write and edit copy for internal announcements, external campaigns, and executive briefings
- Coordinate with marketing and leadership teams to keep messaging consistent across every channel
- Track coverage and sentiment, then report back on what's actually landing
- Several years' experience in corporate communications, PR, or a related comms role
- Sharp writing skills. You should be able to turn dense information into something people actually want to read
- A working media network, or the confidence to build one quickly
- Calm under pressure. Crisis moments need a clear head, not a panicked one
- Good judgement about what matters and what doesn't
- Comfortable presenting ideas to senior stakeholders and defending them when challenged
- Salary of £39,500 to £49,500, plus bonus scheme
- Hybrid working, based from Edinburgh
- Private medical insurance and pension contribution
- Generous annual leave with flexible working built in
- Genuine progression within an established but still-growing company
PR & Communications has never mattered more to businesses than it does right now, and good practitioners are in short supply. Edinburgh's professional services scene gives a Corporate Communications Manager plenty of room to build a serious network without needing to relocate south. Get it right in this field and the ceiling is high. Reputations need protecting, and the people who do it well tend to be trusted with more.
