Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: City of Edinburgh

Are you passionate about youth participation and ensuring that LGBTQ+ young people in Scotland are given the opportunities and skills to speak truth to power? Can you work with trans and non-binary young people to help them shape an existing platform of work so that they are achieving their aims? Can you provide goal orientated support for young people? If so, LGBT Youth Scotland want to hear from you.

  • Contract:

Part-time (30 hours per week). Permanent
  • Location:

Hybrid working (a combination of working from and either Glasgow or Edinburgh)
  • Salary: £30,133 to £33,215 FTE per annum (pro rata for part-time, dependant on experience)

Join LGBT Youth Scotland’s vibrant team of staff and volunteers delivering high quality services supporting LGBTQ+ young people right across Scotland.

They’re looking for an enthusiastic and innovative person to oversee their Trans Rights Youth Commission and their work with Members of the Scottish Youth Parliament (MSYPs).

You will:
  • Oversee the Trans Rights Youth Commission (TRYC), ensuring that Commissioners are supported in their role and that regular development days occur.
  • Provide support to two Members of the Scottish Youth Parliament (MSYPs) and their work within the Scottish Youth Parliament, including attending sittings of parliament and working with the MSYPs on submitting motions.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the forefront of youth participation within Scotland and make a lasting, and sometimes life-saving, impact for LGBTQ+ young people, as well as supporting them to make such impacts themselves.

LGBT Youth Scotland want to hear from you if you have:
  • A strong foundation in participatory or youth work practice.
  • A passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential and developing their leadership skills.
  • A close understanding of LGBTQ+ identities and the key issues facing LGBTQ+ young people, particularly trans and non-binary young people – or a keen willingness to learn this.
Closing Date: 5pm on Friday 16th October.

Interview Date:
Tuesday 27th of October 2026 in Glasgow.
