Nursing Team Leader | Outpatients | Spire Shawfair Park Hospital | 30 hours per week | Permanent

Spire Shawfair Park Hospital is seeking an experienced Outpatients Team Leader to join our established, supportive and high-performing nursing team.

This is a key leadership role within a busy, fast-paced outpatient department, ideal for a nurse who thrives on responsibility, enjoys developing others and has a strong background in outpatient services.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Providing day‑to‑day leadership and support to the outpatient nursing team, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability and continuous improvement
  • Supporting the Outpatient Manager with workforce planning, clinic coordination and safe staffing levels in a high‑volume department
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing team members, including supporting appraisals, training and professional development
  • Providing hands‑on clinical support and direct patient care when required
  • Ensuring consistently high standards of patient assessment, care delivery and health education
  • Promoting compliance with policies, procedures, clinical guidelines and best practice
  • Acting as a role model, maintaining professional standards, patient dignity and safety at all times
Qualifications
  • NMC registered nurse with a valid pin and no restrictions
  • Significant experience working within an outpatient setting
  • Confident leading teams in a busy clinical environment
  • Up to date with mandatory training, including infection control and health & safety
  • Self‑motivated, organised and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective professional relationships
  • Passionate about developing others and maintaining high clinical standards
  • Flexible approach to working patterns
  • Excellent organisational skills

  • Strong teaching skills
