Band 7 Advanced Health Protection Nurse

Location:

Astley Ainslie Hospital, South Edinburgh.

Contract:

Fixed term, 12 months, 22.19 hours per week, covering maternity leave. Secondments may be considered.

• Deliver health protection services across the East Region of Scotland.
• Provide specialist advice, education and audit to healthcare professionals, other agencies, carers, patients and their relatives.
• Develop and improve service practice, working collaboratively across healthcare and local authority boundaries.
• Lead on specific aspects of the service and actively participate in quality improvement work.
• Implement and evaluate evidence‑based standards, guidelines and policies related to communicable disease control and community infection prevention.

• Current membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme for the relevant regulatory group (child and/or adult).
• Experience working in health protection is essential.
• Licensed Band 7 nursing experience.
• Relevant clinical judgement and decision‑making ability.
