Registered Band 6 Midwife – Community and Hospital Based Positions (Core and Rotational)

We are looking for Band 6 midwives to work within both community and hospital settings across NHS Lothian. The role involves delivering high‑quality, person‑centred maternity care across the childbearing continuum, including antenatal, intrapartum, community and inpatient wards.

• Registered midwife with Band 6 experience.
• Demonstrated competence and meaningful exposure across all areas of the childbearing continuum (antenatal, intrapartum, community, inpatient wards).
• Midwives with less than three years of experience will be offered a rotational post to enhance their skill set.
• Experienced midwives in the Early Career pathway are not eligible for core posts until within three months of the end of their early career rotations.

• Obstetric Triage Assessment – Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh Hospital (Fixed‑term).
• Day Assessment Unit – St John’s Hospital.
• Labour Ward – St John’s Hospital (Fixed‑term).
• OPD 3 – St John’s Hospital.

• Stewart Community – North West Edinburgh Community Team.
• Pennywell Community – North West Edinburgh Community Team.
• Leith Community – North East Edinburgh Community Team.
• Sighthill Health Centre – South West Edinburgh Community Team.
• Tollcross Health Centre – South Central Edinburgh Community Team.
• Dalkeith Medical Practice – Midlothian Community Team.
• Craigmillar/Gracemount Practice – South East Edinburgh Community Team.
