Our role is to protect the public and maintain confidence in the nursing and midwifery professions. As the largest independent regulator in Europe of more than 860,000 nursing and midwifery professionals, we have a crucial role in making this a reality.

We do this by setting and promoting high education and professional standards for all future and registered nurses and midwives in the UK and nursing associates in England.

We also ensure every nurse, midwife and nursing associate on our Register meets clear standards of conduct and practice which protects the public and the reputation of our professions.

We have a duty to investigate concerns and to take steps to protect the public in the relatively rare instances where we need to limit or restrict a nurse, midwife or nursing associate’s right to practise.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)

As the Education Concerns Manager, you will lead a team responsible for managing education concerns across NMC-approved programmes throughout the UK. You will oversee the assessment, investigation and resolution of concerns, ensuring our regulatory standards are met and that decisions are timely, evidence-based and fair.

Working closely with education providers, regulators and internal stakeholders, you will help safeguard the quality of nursing and midwifery education, support continuous improvement across approved programmes, and maintain public confidence in the register and the professions we regulate.

** Please note that this role may involve travel, including occasional overnight stays where required**.

• Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams within a regulatory, quality assurance or education environment.
• Strong investigative, analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage complex and sensitive issues.
• Excellent knowledge of governance, risk management and quality assurance processes, with a commitment to fairness, consistency and evidence-based practice.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across a wide range of internal and external partners.
• Experience leading change, improving processes and using data and insight to drive continuous improvement.
• The ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining a focus on public protection, quality outcomes and organisational objectives
