The Role:Lead conservation across 6,800 hectares of Scotland’s most important wildlife habitats.
We’re seeking an experienced conservation professional to lead the management of nine wildlife reserves across the North Reserves Management Area. You’ll oversee habitat restoration, land management, ecological monitoring, and community engagement, helping to deliver lasting benefits for nature.
Main objectives:- Lead conservation and land management across diverse habitats, including peatlands, temperate rainforest, heathland and montane landscapes.
- Manage and develop a local team, volunteers and contractors.
- Build strong relationships with landowners, communities and stakeholders.
- Oversee project delivery, budgets, risk management and health & safety compliance.
- Use ecological evidence to inform decision-making and demonstrate conservation success.
- Represent the Trust at local, regional and national levels.
- HND (or equivalent) in Environmental Conservation or a related subject.
- At least 3 years’ experience managing conservation projects and practical land management.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, health & safety, and evidence-based conservation.
- Experience delivering upland conservation projects such as peatland restoration, native woodland regeneration, river restoration or conservation grazing.
