Working Hours:
40 Hours / Week (Mon Fri, 09:00 17:00, including a 1-hour lunch break) Salary: £34,000 £ 38,000 per annum (Dependent on experience) Benefits: 30 Days Annual Leave (inclusive of public holidays), Statutory Pension Scheme About the Role We are seeking an experienced, proactive QA/QC Co-ordinator to lead the setup, implementation, and ongoing execution of our quality framework. Based between our main Edinburgh offices and our operational yard in Leith, this pivotal role works directly alongside our warehouse and technical teams.
You will be responsible for creating robust QA/QC written procedures from the ground up, embedding them into daily workflows, and leading hands-on inspection and testing activities to ensure high standards and compliance.
Key Responsibilities 1. Process Development & Quality Architecture Design, document, and implement comprehensive internal Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) policies, SOPs, and inspection checklists. Continually review operational workflows within the warehouse and yard to identify quality risks and introduce corrective and preventative actions (CAPA). 2. Training & Culture Educate, onboard, and train warehouse staff and field technicians on new quality standards and standard operating procedures.
Foster a quality-first culture across all operational teams, ensuring high adherence to processes.
3. Inspection, Testing & Operational Leadership Lead and participate directly in routine and ad-hoc physical inspections, testing, and quality sign-offs of equipment and inventory at the Leith yard. Maintain accurate inspection logs, trace defects, and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs). Issue formal product/equipment quality certification upon successful verification.
4. Supplier Quality & Auditing Perform occasional site visits to UK-based suppliers to conduct quality audits, verify component standards, and resolve supplier quality issues. Candidate Profile & Requirements Essential
Skills & Experience:
Demonstrable QA/QC Background:
Strong, proven experience in writing, implementing, and embedding QA/QC procedures within a technical, logistics, engineering, or warehouse environment. Hands-on Leadership:
Ability to train, lead, and influence warehouse/yard personnel to follow strict quality guidelines. Inspection & Audit Capabilities:
Practical experience conducting physical inspections, functional testing, and issuing formal quality documentation. Driving Licence:
Valid UK Full Driving Licence required (for occasional travel to UK suppliers and between sites). Desirable Attributes:
Familiarity with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001) or standard manufacturing/logistics quality frameworks. Excellent documentation skills and high attention to detail. Strong communication skills with the confidence to roll out new systems across multi-disciplinary teams.
