Assistant Technician 1 – Charles River Laboratories

Join our team at Charles River Laboratories, a leading contract research organization that has been supporting drug discovery and development for 75 years. Our work impacts the health and well‑being of people worldwide, and we are looking for a dedicated Technician to join our Immunology, Bioanalysis & Biomarkers team in Riccarton, Edinburgh.

The successful candidate will provide essential laboratory support across the Biomarker, Immunochemistry and Molecular Biology groups, assisting with sample management and day‑to‑day assay operations.

• Material ordering, receipt, management and delivery
• Tube and sample preparation
• Preparation of reagents and solutions
• Use of balances, centrifuges and other laboratory equipment
• Laboratory organisation and cleaning duties
• Monitoring and maintaining consumable levels
• General equipment maintenance
• Maintaining accurate records of consumables, samples and equipment
• Effective communication with stakeholders

• Sample receipt, management and delivery
• Cross‑training within the sample management team

• Minimum NAT5/Higher or equivalent qualification in two of Maths, Chemistry and Biology
• High attention to detail
• Excellent organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Strong communication skills
• IT literate with experience of Microsoft applications

Salary: £23,842.35 annually.

Location:

Clearwater House, Riccarton, Edinburgh. Initial training and onboarding will take place at our site in Elphinstone, Tranent.
