Description

The University of Edinburgh is seeking a Research Analyst to contribute to an interdisciplinary research programme examining the historical and contemporary legacies of colonialism, race, and enslavement. The role is embedded within a dedicated research and engagement initiative focused on understanding how racial categories have been constructed, institutionalised, and mobilised within academic and societal contexts.

The selected candidate will support ongoing research activities by collecting, managing, and analysing qualitative and quantitative data related to institutional histories and their present‑day implications. Responsibilities include coordinating research activities, organising meetings and stakeholder engagements, supporting collaborative research outputs, and ensuring accurate representation of findings. The position involves close collaboration with senior researchers, co‑chairs, and interdisciplinary teams, contributing to both scholarly outputs and broader institutional review processes.

The role is offered on a fixed‑term basis and is designed to support high‑impact academic research with strong engagement components, including data‑driven analysis and contribution to institutional strategy and public understanding.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Demonstrated experience in academic or policy‑oriented research.
  • Strong understanding of themes related to race, colonialism, and social justice.
