The Opportunity
An exciting postdoctoral research fellow position is available to investigate the role of autophagy and lysosomal degradation in aging and aging-related diseases at the University of Edinburgh's Cancer Research UK Scotland Centre.
Job DescriptionGrade: UE07
Annual Salary: £41,064 - £48,822 per annum
Full‑time: 35 hours per week
Fixed‑term: 20 months
Location:
Cancer Research UK Scotland Centre, University of Edinburgh
Responsibilities:
- Investigate key events during autophagy initiation, progression and lysosomal degradation.
- Explore the relevance of autophagy in disease through cell biology and biochemical techniques.
- Design, execute and interpret experiments.
- Analyze data and present findings to the team.
- Contribute to manuscript preparation and publication.
Applicant must have completed a PhD (or be in the final stages of completion) and ideally has a strong publication record.
Experience in basic molecular techniques and excellent technical skills are essential.
Demonstrated creative thinking, presentation skills, problem solving, self‑motivation and critical analysis capabilities.
