We’re looking for several Contract Research Scientists with expertise in computer systems and AI infrastructure to join our growing research team.
These roles are particularly suited to recent PhD graduates looking to gain industrial research experience, as well as exceptional BSc or MSc graduates who want to develop their research skills in a world-class technology environment.
We welcome expertise across Operating Systems, Distributed Systems and Machine Learning Systems.
Responsibilities- Rapid Prototyping: Work with multidisciplinary teams to rapidly develop and test proof-of-concept systems, taking research ideas from concept to real-world validation.
- Performance Optimisation: Profile and optimise operating systems and large-scale distributed systems across heterogeneous hardware, including CPU and NPU platforms
. - Research & Publications: Turn innovative research findings into high-impact papers for leading academic conferences and journals.
- Technical Documentation: Produce clear, comprehensive documentation covering research methodologies, system designs, implementation details and results.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Present research progress, technical insights and performance findings to internal stakeholders and engineering teams.
- Real-World Research: Work on challenging problems where research directly influences practical data centre and AI infrastructure technologies.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
- Comfortable with research methodologies and experimental approaches
- Strong understanding of one or more of:
- Operating Systems
- Distributed Systems
- Cloud Computing
- Strong programming skills with expertise in at least one language, particularly C/C++
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A curiosity-driven mindset and enthusiasm for tackling challenging systems problems
- PhD in Operating Systems, Distributed Systems, Machine Learning Systems or a related field
- Research publications in leading systems or ML conferences such as NSDI, Euro Sys, SoCC, OSDI, NeurIPS, ICML or ICLR
