About the Role

Equans is recruiting for a Chef to join our team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (EH16 4SA
). This is a full‑time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week. Salary: £28,011 per annum plus benefits package.

• 5 days over 7 days
• 7.5 hours per day
• 2 weekends per month
• 37.5 hours per week

Reporting to the Head Chef/Senior Chef, you will produce and deliver food that is safe, hygienic, nutritious and of the highest possible quality for staff and visitors. You will ensure the service meets food‑hygiene legislation, Equans’ Food Safety Policy, the Food Safety Management System (FSMS), and national standards as directed by government guidance.

• Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene certification plus Food Standards Agency Allergen Training
• DS Basic check – ability to pass is essential
• Strong background and work experience in catering
• Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
• Excellent performance in a fast‑paced healthcare environment
• Open to direction and committed to completing tasks
• Capability to challenge and debate important issues
• Ability to consider multiple perspectives and present details and facts persuasively
• Strong leadership skills with at least two years of proven experience in a similar role
• Comfortable working in a diverse environment
