Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Pick, Pack & Stock Assistant

Metal Clay Ltd is one of the largest metal clay suppliers in Europe. We sell over 4,000 crafting tools, materials, and equipment.

We are passionate about top-quality products and giving top-notch service, which shows in our reviews and customer feedback.

We are looking for a Pick/Pack & Stock Assistant for immediate start.

Responsibilities
  • Printing and picking orders daily, and twice a week packing and shipping orders
  • Stock management support, keeping the stock room organised, and pick bins full
  • Stock checks, stock counts, quality control
  • Goods‑in and out – receiving and checking in deliveries, handling courier collections
  • Kit making and re‑bundling goods for retail
  • Keeping the warehouse and office clean and tidy
  • Other stock and show support as needed
Who is this for?
  • Sitting in front of a computer isn’t for you – you’re physically fit and happy to be busy on your feet most of the day. You’ll sometimes be counting sets of hundreds of miniature‑sized items, and sometimes moving and lifting big and heavy boxes – handling a lot of stock varying from 1 mm stones up to 20 kg kilns. We’re not a large warehouse (no forklifts), but you will be busy and up and down the stairs across our two floors.
  • You’re sharp and proactive, take pride in your work, and can follow instructions with precision and report back on completion.
  • You need good reading skills and can pay attention to small details – can you spot the difference between 197‑SL45982x and 197‑SL49852x at a glance?
  • You have good numeracy skills, and can stay focused to count 165 miniature‑sized products without losing track – even if the phone is ringing and people are coming and going around you.
  • You need to be comfortable using a computer for managing orders and stock (software training will be provided) and maintaining accurate records.
  • You must be punctual. If your start time is 8.45am you’ll be expected to be ready to start work at 8.45am.
  • You must have a friendly positive manner – even on a grey and rainy Monday morning when we all might have preferred to be at home in bed!
Salary

Starting at £12.50/hour

Important

We’re a small company with a close team who care for, appreciate, and rely on each other. You’ll be expected to help out as and when needed in other parts of the company. This could include setting up the studio/meeting space for in‑house events, or sorting out exhibition materials, reorganising storage spaces, and supporting the team where needed.

Please note – we receive many applications for our positions. It is impossible to get back to everyone with feedback. We shortlist using your application letter together with your CV so please give us as much information as possible to give yourself the best chance.

Don’t just list jobs you’ve done, give us a chance to get to know you, what you will bring to the team, and why you would want to work with us.
