Sales Assistant

Job Description

Yorkshire Trading Company is a family owned and run business with 36 stores throughout Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the North East. We operate a busy e‑commerce operation and outdoor events teams trading nationwide. We are looking to add a sales assistant to our Pickering store.

Position: 16 hours a week over 4 days, including weekends on a rota basis and possibly some early mornings.

Our goal is to provide high‑class customer service and to increase the company’s growth and revenue through sales maximisation.

• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
• Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
• Maintain a fully stocked store
• Ascertain customers’ needs and wants
• Welcome and greet customers
• Process sales through our Epos till system – training given
• Actively involved in receiving deliveries
• Keep up to date with product information
• Accurately describe product features and benefits
• Follow all company policies and procedures

• Previous retail experience would be beneficial but is not essential as training will be given
• Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Customer service focus
• Friendly, helpful, confident and engaging personality
