This is brand new lead role which will be personally responsible for handling complex quotations, tender pricing, commercial analysis, and supplier negotiations. This is a hands‑on position requiring an experienced professional who personally handles high‑value quotations whilst triaging simpler quotes across a small team (no direct reports). Success will require using ERP data analysis to quote the right product at the right commercial terms.
ComplexQuotations & Tenders
- Personally handle all Tier 3 complex quotes and high‑value opportunities
- Lead tender pricing responses
- Handle all urgent/time‑sensitive quotes when needed
- Negotiate pricing and terms with key suppliers on high value quotes
- Conduct win/loss analysis and track quote conversion rates
- Identify margin improvement opportunities and cost reductions
- Monitor competitor pricing and market positioning
- Conduct commercial analysis to inform product/pricing decisions
- Provide commercial insights to senior management
- Coordinate work allocation and triage incoming quotes
- Assign Tier 1/2 quotes to appropriate resources
- Support and mentor team members with guidance and prioritisation
- Review selected quotes for accuracy and commercial viability before issue
- Track all quotes through the system to completion
- Maintain quote tracking and reporting
- Improve quoting processes and efficiencies
- Standardise quote templates and commercial documentation
- Maintain ERP data accuracy for quotations
- Develop best practice guides and training materials
- Implement system improvements for quotation workflow
- Track and report on quotation performance metrics
- Analyse quote data to identify trends and opportunities
- Provide insights on "right product/right time" decisions
- Generate management reports on quote pipeline and conversion
- Build relationships with key account managers (sales team)
- Attend client meetings for major opportunities
- Gather feedback to improve quotation service
- Minimum 3+ years in quotations/commercial role
- Proven ability to handle complex quotes and tenders
- Strong commercial acumen
- Process improvement experience
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Self‑motivated and able to work autonomously
- Comfortable coordinating others without formal management responsibility
- Experience with tender framework agreements
- Team coordination experience
Reporting to our Global Sourcing & Supply Chain Director, you will be joining an established team of commercial executives with a strong focus on outstanding client satisfaction.
In return you'll earn a competitive salary, between £37,000 - £40,000 (Dependent on experience), 5% employer pension, and a company wide profit share bonus (estimated to be circa 6-7% of annual salary).
