Area Sales Manager
At Harvey & Brockless, part of The Compleat Food Group, we supply exceptional artisan and speciality foods to chefs, restaurants, and food businesses across the UK. With an ever-growing product portfolio and a people-first culture, we’re expanding our commercial team and are now looking for a dedicated Account Manager to cover the Edinburgh region.
The RoleThis is not your typical sales role. We’re looking for someone who is genuinely passionate about food and brings experience from the food service, hospitality, or wholesale sectors. Whether your background is front-of-house, food buying, or working as a chef, we value industry insight just as much as commercial capability.
If you’re a chef or hospitality professional looking to step away from long hours, evenings, and weekends—but still want to stay connected to the food industry—this could be an exciting career move. You’ll remain close to the world you love, just in a different and rewarding capacity. Several members of our sales team have made this transition successfully.
This is a hybrid, field-based role, so you’ll need to be based in or near Edinburgh and comfortable travelling regularly to visit customers.

- Background in food service, hospitality, FMCG, or food wholesale preferred
- Experience managing customer relationships or a clear desire to move into sales
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with supply chain and customer service teams
- Awareness of food safety and compliance is advantageous
- Genuine passion for food and sharing it with others
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Commercially minded with an understanding of pricing, value, and margins
- Organised, proactive, and detail-focused
- Able to manage multiple accounts and adapt to customer needs
- Confident using CRM or order management systems
- Approachable, down-to-earth, and customer-focused
- Salary: £35,000–£38,000 (depending on experience)

- Hybrid working – flexibility between field, home, and occasional office days

If you’re based in the Edinburgh area, have a passion for food, and are excited by the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with chefs and food businesses, we’d love to hear from you.
