Job Summary

The National Account Manager is a key role within the Enterprise, Commercial & Light Industrial team. You will manage a defined number of high‑priority accounts in the enterprise market vertical, responsible for the full portfolio of products (LV Switchgear & Busbar, ACP UPS, ELS, and Thermal Management) that Vertiv sells to Enterprise customers. The role focuses on growth through effective engagement with End‑User, Consultant, and Contractor communities, maximizing new product sales and driving account expansion.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Maintain long‑term relationships with allocated accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and a best‑in‑class experience.
  • Promote Vertiv’s product offerings—Busbar/Switchgear/ACP Power Products & Thermal Management solutions—to stakeholders across the account hierarchy.
  • Inform accounts of new product developments and service offerings, identifying short‑ and long‑term solutions for their businesses.
  • Develop and lead new opportunities, supporting bids and negotiations with application engineering and sales support teams until closure.
  • Engage with dedicated marketing activities for Vertiv products and services.
  • Develop and manage account plans that outline strategies for growth and retention.
  • Participate in pipeline creation, review calls, and demand‑generation sessions focused on the associated accounts.
  • Monitor market trends, identify new business opportunities, and promote them within the business.
  • Prepare and present to key stakeholders, including portfolio overviews, technical deep‑dives, and value‑add presentations.
  • Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders to strengthen repeat business.
  • Use reporting and forecasting platforms to support pipeline discipline, growth, and accuracy.
  • Increase Vertiv’s market share and meet or exceed budget targets for Orders, Sales, and GM/EBITDA in line with company ethics and guidelines.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of account management experience with a proven track record.
  • Strong commercial experience in identifying and fulfilling customer needs.
  • In‑depth knowledge of the enterprise industry and its sub‑segments.
  • Principle knowledge of LV Switchgear & Busbar, UPS, ELS topology, or Thermal Management.
  • Commercial negotiation experience.
  • Stakeholder mapping and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to develop and execute account plans.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills at all levels.
  • Sales background in engineering applications, service, or product‑led environments.
  • Planning, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Basic legal and commercial policy understanding.
  • Influencing, negotiating, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proactive initiative and teamwork capabilities.
  • Competitive drive and ambitious attitude.
  • Presentation skills and ability to represent Vertiv with confidence.
  • Numeracy and IT literacy, with a sound understanding of business KPIs.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet agreed timescales.
  • Self‑starter with effective time management.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Valid driving licence.
Working Conditions
  • Travel within the UK and Europe to support customers and business initiatives.
  • Occasional overnight stays outside the primary territory.
