Description

To develop and execute JT's growth strategy across the SME market in Jersey and Guernsey. The role is responsible for increasing market share, driving customer acquisition, developing market presence, and establishing a consistent and effective SME sales approach. Through market insight, targeted campaigns and partnerships, the SME Sales Manager owns the delivery of JT's SME growth agenda whilst ensuring sustainable commercial performance and positive customer and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and own SME market growth strategies aligned to JT's commercial objectives and growth ambitions.
  • Define and execute SME growth plans, campaigns and sales initiatives that support customer acquisition, retention, market penetration and revenue growth.
  • Identify and prioritise SME growth opportunities across Jersey and Guernsey through market analysis, customer insight and local business engagement.
  • Drive the acquisition of new SME customers and growth of existing customer relationships through effective sales planning, execution and market activity.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business owners, professional partners, industry bodies and local business networks to strengthen JT's market presence and commercial opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends, customer requirements and competitive activity to inform commercial priorities and market development plans.
  • Drive disciplined opportunity and pipeline management, forecasting, sales activity and performance management to improve commercial outcomes and predictability.
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Sales Enablement and the wider business to ensure propositions, campaigns and customer experiences support SME growth objectives.
  • Manage, coach and develop the SME Account Management team, establishing clear performance expectations, sales disciplines, customer engagement standards and development plans that drive individual and team success.
  • Establish and embed effective sales processes, account management practices, pipeline disciplines and performance standards across the team.
  • Create a high-performance culture through regular coaching, feedback, capability development and effective people management.
  • Monitor and report on sector performance, including customer acquisition, revenue growth, retention, market penetration, pipeline health and sales activity effectiveness.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Significant experience in B2B sales, business development or strategic account management, with a proven track record of delivering sustainable growth.
  • Experience developing and executing market growth plans, acquisition strategies and sales campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of consultative and solution-based sales approaches, with the ability to align customer needs to commercial outcomes.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify market opportunities, assess priorities and drive revenue growth.
  • Proven ability to build productive relationships with customers, partners, local business communities and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of pipeline management, forecasting disciplines and sales performance metrics.
  • Experience managing, coaching and developing sales professionals, with a focus on building capability, performance and accountability.
  • Demonstrates strong people management skills, creating clear expectations, providing constructive feedback and supporting individual development and performance improvement.
  • Builds collaborative relationships across the organisation, encouraging shared ownership of customer and business outcomes.
  • Acts as a role model for JT's values and behaviours, demonstrating integrity, accountability, professionalism, resilience and adaptability.
