: £26,881 (£14.71 per hour) plus additional £4,435 shift allowance

: 35 hours per week (equivalence)| 14 twelve hour shifts, including weekends and night working over a 28 day shift cycle which repeats 13 times a year

Working as part of a professional security team, you will ensure and maintain the security, safety and integrity of all National Museums Scotland buildings and provide a safe and secure environment for all staff, visitors and collections.
As a Security Officer at National Museums Scotland you will- Patrol and secure the Site to ensure any intrusion, flood or fires are prevented and / or detected as soon as possible
- Monitor CCTV systems as appropriate, assisting in preparing footage for any CCTV investigations
- Support our Visitor Experience staff in dealing with emergency and conflict situations
- Adhere to and apply all Security Control Room and out of hours procedures including the verification and issuing of identification passes to all visitors, contractors and staff
- Experience of working in a security environment
- Experience in dealing with security incidents / situations requiring an immediate or timed response
- Ability to remain calm and positive when dealing with a wide range of enquiries and situations
- Knowledge of receptions duties / access control for staff, contractors and visitors
- Good knowledge of security, fire, intruder and CCTV systems and procedures
