About the Role:

HSC are recruiting for a Residential Worker on behalf of a well-established charitable organisation providing residential and community-based support to children, young people, and families. This opportunity is based primarily within a small residential setting supporting up to three mothers and their babies at any one time. The service provides guidance and practical support to help mothers strengthen attachment and bonding with their babies, develop independent living skills, and improve health and wellbeing outcomes for both parent and child.

The successful candidate will work closely with mothers, babies, families, social work, health professionals, and partner agencies to ensure strengths-based, trauma-informed support is delivered while maintaining the safety and wellbeing of children. Role and Responsibilities:

Provide direct support and interventions for parents, babies, and families in a residential setting. Support mothers to build healthy attachment and bonding with their babies. Promote positive health, wellbeing, and independent living skills. Monitor and support babies growth and developmental needs. Work collaboratively with families, social work, health professionals, and partner agencies. Ensure childrens safety and welfare are maintained at all times.

Contribute to positive onward transitions and long-term outcomes for families. Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and reviews. Participate in shift work, including weekends, lone working, and sleep-ins on a four-week rota. Provide support across additional residential services when required. Work in line with safeguarding procedures, professional standards, and organisational values. Essential Skills and Attributes:
Experience delivering direct work and interventions with parents, babies, and families. Passion for supporting young people, babies, and families to achieve positive outcomes. Ability to build strong, trusting, and compassionate relationships. Understanding of child development and trauma-informed practice. Positive, thoughtful, and rights-focused approach to support. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

HNC/SVQ Level 7 in Social Care (SCQF Level 7 minimum) or currently working towards this qualification. Eligibility and willingness to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). Experience working within residential or family support settings. Understanding of strengths-based and relationship-focused practice. Additional Information:
This role involves a shift rota across a four-week pattern, including sleep-ins, weekend work, and lone working. The successful candidate will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
