What

you will be doing:

In this rewarding role, youwill:

  • Coordinate referrals, undertaking initial assessments and triage, and ensuring people receive the most appropriate support for their needs.
  • Manage waiting lists,caseload sand service allocations to ensuretimelyaccess to bereavement support.
  • Facilitate bereavement support groups and coordinating the staff and volunteers who help deliver these services.
  • Manage recruiting, training,supervising and supporting volunteers, ensuring they feel confident,safeand valued in their role.
  • Provide compassionate bereavement support to individuals and families through face-to-face sessions, telephone calls, videoappointmentsand support groups.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure families receive information, guidance and support following bereavement.
  • Provide emotional and psychological support to bereaved individuals andidentifyingwhenadditionalspecialist support or external referrals may be required.
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals and community organisations to provide a joined-up approach to bereavement care.
  • Coordinate bereavement-related events and encouraging participation from staff,volunteers and the wider community.
  • Maintainaccuraterecords, managing service administration and ensuring all activity meets Marie Curie policies and professional standards.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and supporting the wider priorities andobjectivesof Marie Curie.
What we’re looking for:
  • A recognised counselling qualification (DipHE, Foundation Degree in Counselling, or equivalent).
  • Professional membership of BACP, IABACP, or another recognised counselling/psychotherapy body.
  • Experience supporting people affected by bereavement, loss, or end-of-life issues.
  • The ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams,volunteers and external partners.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with experience managing referrals and caseloads.
Salary:

Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band6 £ 43,231 to £52,679 prorata per annum

Contract:

Permanent Part Time 30 hours per week

Onsite Marie Curie Hospice Edinburgh Frogston Road West EH10 7DR
