This requires advanced relationship-based skills focused on personalisation and strength-based working, to support people to make positive, self‑directed change.

The successful candidate will work as a social worker within the multi‑disciplinary Perinatal Community Mental Health Team, supporting a caseload of individuals experiencing social barriers such as housing, domestic violence, and isolation to recovery through social‑work and psycho‑education interventions and representing the social‑work perspective in the team.

  • Apply a strengths‑based, relationship‑oriented approach and demonstrate active clinical and managerial leadership within the team, including education and supervision of junior staff and other professionals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with statutory and third‑sector organisations (e.g., Women’s Aid, local frameworks) to support families towards recovery.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet the service needs, including unsocial hours and bank holidays.
Qualifications
  • Professional qualification in social work to degree level or equivalent.
  • Maintains current registration with Social Work England.
  • Further specialist post‑registration experience or formal training in a related service area.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current legislation, national and local issues impacting care, and clinical risk assessment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, diplomatic, caring, and sympathetic.
  • Skills in assessment, intervention, evaluation of patients and clinical supervision.
  • Basic IT skills.
Requirements
  • Willingness to undertake new interventions, education, and training that will enhance service delivery.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to flexible working arrangements.
