Whatyou will be doing:
- Coordinate referrals, undertaking initial assessments and triage, and ensuring people receive the most appropriate support for their needs.
- Manage waiting lists, caseloads and service allocations to ensure timely access to bereavement support.
- Facilitate bereavement support groups and coordinate the staff and volunteers who help deliver these services.
- Manage recruiting, training, supervising and supporting volunteers, ensuring they feel confident, safe and valued in their role.
- Provide compassionate bereavement support to individuals and families through face‑to‑face sessions, telephone calls, video appointments and support groups.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure families receive information, guidance and support following bereavement.
- Provide emotional and psychological support to bereaved individuals and identify when additional specialist support or external referrals may be required.
- Liaise with healthcare professionals and community organisations to provide a joined‑up approach to bereavement care.
- Coordinate bereavement‑related events and encourage participation from staff, volunteers and the wider community.
- Maintain accurate records, managing service administration and ensuring all activity meets Marie Curie policies and professional standards; contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and supporting the wider priorities and objectives of Marie Curie.
- A recognised counselling qualification (DipHE, Foundation Degree in Counselling, or equivalent).
- Professional membership of BACP, IABACP, or another recognised counselling/psychotherapy body.
- Experience supporting people affected by bereavement, loss, or end‑of‑life issues.
- The ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, volunteers and external partners.
- Excellent organisational skills, with experience managing referrals and caseloads.

Salary:
Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 6 £ 43,231 to £52,679 pro rata per annum
Contract:
Permanent Part Time 30 hours per week
