Position Overview

Lead Practitioner – Edinburgh Visiting Housing Support Service

As a Lead Practitioner, you will work with individuals who have a wide range of support needs, providing practical and emotional support and encouraging them to achieve their personal outcomes across all aspects of their daily lives, including safety, meaningful activities, community involvement, physical health, relationships, and emotional well‑being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide practical and emotional support to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
  • Encourage service users to reach their personal outcomes in safety, health, relationships, and community participation.
  • Support users to access and utilize housing services such as Housing Support (short and long term/intensive), Housing First, and crisis support.
  • Maintain accurate records and use IT systems for client data entry and reporting.
  • Register with the SSSC within six months of start date, where required.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Relevant experience working with people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in IT and digital record‑keeping.
  • Willingness and ability to register with the SSSC within six months.
  • Eligible to work in the United Kingdom; no visa sponsorship available.
