Team Leader - Education Wellbeing Service

Location: Waverley Court

Hours: 36 per week
Salary: £47,639 – £56,392 (pro rata for part time)

Overview

We are seeking a Team Leader for the Education Wellbeing Service (EWS). The post holder will provide high quality service practice, professional support, supervision and leadership to Education Wellbeing Officers, engage with the wider inclusion leadership team, and work within the GIRFEC framework.

Responsibilities

The EWS assists schools to implement the local authority’s maximising school attendance policy by working in collaboration with schools, children, young people and their families to achieve the best outcomes.

Core functions of the service:

  • Consultation and Advice
  • Assessment and Intervention
  • Data for Improvement
  • Professional Learning

The Team Leader coordinates these functions and manages a range of tasks such as:

  • CME
  • MARAC
  • EEI
  • Absence requests due to exceptional circumstances
  • Part‑time timetables
  • Hosting events
  • Transitions and parent education and wellbeing programmes
Qualifications & Experience

Successful candidates will have experience leading and managing strategic development of a service and/or teams, stakeholder engagement and communication. Experience using data to drive decisions, building support for services, managing quality assurance, and working with communities to co‑construct collaborative approaches is desirable.

This is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Applicants who have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last five years will be required to provide an Overseas Criminal Record Check.
