AWS Lambda Developer

6-month contract initially, mainly remote with a maximum of 1 day per week in Edinburgh. Pay £400‑£450 per day via Umbrella.

• Design, develop, and deploy serverless applications using AWS Lambda and related AWS services such as API Gateway, S3, Dynamo
  
  DB, and Step Functions.
• Write efficient, reusable, and maintainable code in languages such as Python or Java.
• Optimize Lambda functions for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Implement event-driven architectures and integrate with microservices and third‑party APIs.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and debug applications using tools like Cloud Watch and X-Ray.
• Ensure security, compliance, and best practices in cloud deployments.
• Automate CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment and version control.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and deliver high‑quality cloud solutions.

• Strong expertise in serverless development using AWS Lambda, with proficiency in Python.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS ecosystem and integrations including API Gateway, Dynamo
  
  DB, S3, and designing RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Good understanding of cloud architecture, CI/CD pipelines, security (IAM), and monitoring (Cloud Watch) for building scalable and secure solutions.
• Deep understanding of core AWS services:
  Lambda, Dynamo
  
  DB, S3, Cloud Formation, IAM, Cloud Watch, etc.
• Experience with serverless architecture and microservices.
