You will own the entire lifecycle of a feature—from understanding customer pains with the product team, through design, coding, deployment, and measuring impact. Autonomy and pragmatism guide our engineering culture, and reliability and simplicity are the metrics of success.

The billing team handles tax determination, invoice issuance, invoice collection, and deferred payments. We are migrating tax determination to a third‑party integration, rearchitecting invoice issuance for async processing at scale, and automating the invoice collection process into a self‑serve service with AI support. There is also a growing amount of frontend work to improve the end‑to‑end billing experience.

We work in small, autonomous cross‑functional squads with real ownership of Perk domains. Teams decide how they contribute to company goals. We value impact and trust our people to deliver it.

AI is embedded in how we work, spanning Notion, Jira, Git Hub, and Slack. It aids feature specification, coding, and AI‑assisted code reviews. We expect candidates to use AI tools in coding interviews and to own what they produce.

• Product Leadership: Translate complex business goals into technical roadmaps; de‑risk ambiguous projects through spikes and prototyping.

• System Architecture: Design scalable, maintainable systems and data models with performance and failure isolation in mind.

• Technical Standards: Define and uphold engineering excellence, including CI/CD optimization, testing strategies, and coding standards.

• Frontend Strategy: Establish frontend architecture patterns, state management, performance budgets, and testing (E2E/Cypress).

• Backend Excellence: Engineer sophisticated backend solutions with API versioning, caching, and data migration plans.

• Operational Maturity: Lead observability and SRE practices; define SLOs, incident responses, and blameless postmortems.

• Security & Risk: Oversee operational security, including secrets hygiene and dependency risk management.

• Mentorship & Influence: Level up the engineering organization through mentorship and design reviews, influencing the product roadmap with technical data.

• Cross-Functional Impact: Coordinate multi‑team deliverables and align stakeholders to resolve blockers.

• AI‑Driven Development: Experience with or interest in AI‑augmented workflows and agentic development.
