We're looking for aSenior Software Engineerto join one of ourCore Marketing Platforms teams whereyoullbuild andoptimizehigh-performance microservices that power Fan Duels marketing on systems enabling critical capabilities such as real-time customer communications personalized promotions and targeted campaign delivery.
Your work will focus on designing highly scalable event-driven systems that process large volumes of real-time data delivering intelligent insights to marketing enable data-driven personalized experiences for millions of customers across our platform.
Youllwork within a modern microservices and event-driven architecture building
Martechsolutions enhanced by AI to drive customer engagement and retention.
- Take the long-term view and consider what volumes our systems can handle today vs 3 years from now.
- Make existing systems simpler ( systemsdeletingunnecessary code or removing/updating out of date documentation).
- Coaching and developing other software engineers technical skills.
- Lead projects with a holistic view of the strategic direction of the vertical.
- Defining the architecture of the future enabling our systems toutilizemodern technologies to their fullest whilst achieving our goals while ensuring that it is balanced with enough time to focus on operationally improving our existing systems.
- Solve complex problems seeking input and guidance from team members
- Take defined design and turn it into codeand deliver it on schedule applying appropriate technologies and current software engineering best practices.
- Write secure stable testable maintainable code with minimal defects
- Participate in team designscopingand prioritization discussions
- Work effectively with other team members& identify any opportunities/problems arising from technical decisions.

- You understand the maintenance characteristics run-time properties and dependencies of your teams software including hardware platform operatingsystemand build dependencies.
- Youparticipatein the on-call support rotation for your organization.
- Contribute to the professional development of colleagues improving their technical knowledge andthe engineering practices.
- You clearly document your software to ensure that future generations of developers understand the intention behind the features and components you build.
- In the event ofa problem you can troubleshoot and thoroughly resolve defects.
- Most importantly you are humble pragmatic self-managed thirsty for knowledge neversatisfiedand always challenge the norm. Responsible for the state of the code you both inherit and produce.
What were looking for in our next teammate
- Degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong backend experience with Java
- Experience with AWS as well as understanding Dev Ops concepts such asIaC(we use Terraform)
- Experience with event streaming technologies such as SNS/SQS or Kafka.
- Good grasp on relational non-relational databases messagingqueuesand handling concurrency.
- Experience working with high volume systems.
- Understanding of modern architectures design patterns and platform nuances.
- Strong experience working with cloud-based infrastructure and technologies preferably AWS.
- Understating of containers (e.g. Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Expert experience with testing concepts test tools and integrating testing and best practices in the SDLC.
- Strong senseof ownership urgency and drive.
- Familiarity working in an Agile environment.
- Passion for working within a fast-paced environment and can adapt to change.
