Location: City of Edinburgh

Edinburgh College is seeking to recruit a person to take up the post of Driver/porter. The post holder will provide a delivery service across all campuses, pick up of mail and goods around sites and external stakeholders. They will also book in goods through stores and provide support to colleagues in setting up for events across all campuses. They will also be required to take a proactive approach to the upkeep and maintenance of the estate.

The post holder is required to have a valid driving license and be comfortable driving a variety of vehicles.

We operate a guaranteed interview scheme and open this to BME groups, people living with a disability, the care experienced and Armed forces veterans - if you meet the essential criteria, you will automatically be selected for an interview.

Working pattern is 9.00am to 16.30pm Tuesday to Thursday, however flexibility is available and can be discussed.

The main location for work will be Sighthill Campus, however the successful candidate may be required to work at any Edinburgh College campus.

Essential
  • General education to SCQF Level 5 or equivalent.
  • Driving license.
  • Ability to work either within a team or on own.

  • Demonstrate effective time management and organisational skills.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 kg
Desirable
  • 2 years’ experience within a warehouse, stores or facilities environment
  • Maintenance skills, including basic repairs and upkeep of facilities
  • Experience working within an educational establishment
  • Counterbalance forklift licence
  • ICT skills
  • Safe Operating Procedures
  • Experience in waste management
  • Presentable and Professional.
  • First Aid training.
  • Excellent communication skills – both individual and group.
