Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Class 2 driver role based in the City of Edinburgh. The Class 2 driver will safely operate company trucks to deliver heavy building materials to trade customers and construction sites, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. Day-to-day tasks include loading and securing goods, following planned delivery routes, completing delivery documentation, and performing basic vehicle checks. The role involves communicating with branch staff and customers to coordinate deliveries, provide courteous service, and resolve any delivery-related issues.

The driver will follow all road safety regulations, company policies, and health and safety procedures while representing the business professionally at all times.

Qualifications
  • Strong truck driving skills with proven experience operating Class 2 or similar commercial vehicles.
  • Valid commercial driving license (e.g., CDL Class A or equivalent) and a clean driving record.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to safely handle and secure heavy building materials and operate delivery equipment where required.
  • Good knowledge of local routes in and around the City of Edinburgh and awareness of road safety regulations.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work full time on-site with a focus on safety and teamwork.
  • Basic understanding of delivery documentation and vehicle inspection procedures.
  • Previous experience in construction, builders' merchant, or logistics environments is advantageous.
