Warehouse Operative - Retail Line

Leith, Edinburgh
£13.00 per hour | Weekly Pay | 6-Month Contract | Potential Future Permanent Opportunities

Manpower Scotland is recruiting on behalf of a well-established client based in Leith, Edinburgh for a Warehouse Operative to join their busy retail line operation. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a fast‑paced warehouse environment with a respected employer.

This role is offered as an initial 6‑month contract. While there is no guarantee of a permanent position, successful candidates may be considered for future permanent opportunities as they arise within the business. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands‑on work, thrive in a busy environment, and take pride in maintaining high standards of accuracy and productivity.

Working Hours & Pay Shift Pattern:
  • Monday to Friday
  • Constant Back Shift
  • 2:00pm - 10:00pm

Pay Rate:

  • £13.00 per hour
  • Weekly pay
The Role

As a Warehouse Operative, you will play a key role in supporting the efficient running of the retail line and warehouse operation. The role involves a variety of warehouse tasks and requires a proactive, hands‑on approach.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working on a busy retail production line.
  • Picking and packing products accurately to customer requirements.
  • Labelling, sorting, and preparing products for dispatch.
  • Palletising and wrapping finished goods.
  • Loading and unloading stock safely.
  • Conducting quality checks to ensure products meet company standards.
  • Maintaining stock accuracy and supporting inventory activities.
  • Using handheld scanners and warehouse systems where required.
  • Keeping work areas clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety procedures.
  • Assisting with general warehouse duties as required.
About You The successful candidate will be:
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards.
  • Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual handling duties throughout the shift.
  • A strong team player with a positive attitude and good work ethic.
  • Able to work independently and follow instructions accurately.
  • Flexible and willing to support different areas of the operation when required.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Previous warehouse, production, retail line, or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with picking, packing, palletising, or order preparation.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Understanding of warehouse health and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a target‑driven environment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience working within a retail, FMCG, logistics, or distribution environment.
  • Experience using handheld scanners or warehouse management systems.
  • Previous experience working permanent back shifts.
