• With general direction, design excavation, dewatering, shallow/deep foundations, dams/reservoirs/levees, geo-environmental projects, etc. engineering designs of basic to high complexity to meet client project requirements.
• Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations and sign off on completed designs.
• Ensure that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
• Perform site reviews and studies as needed to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications.
• Update design requirements as necessary.
• Perform soil sampling analyses and modeling.
• Contribute to the firm’s TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs or studies.
• Submit technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
• Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to client requests for proposals (RFPs).
• Review draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations and best practices.
• Meet with current and potential future clients to review their design needs.
• Attend conferences, symposia, etc. to improve visibility of the firm’s products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Provide technical guidance and training to more junior staff.
• Mentor more junior staff and develop them for future growth within the discipline and firm.
• May supervise the work of junior engineers on project work.

• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical, Civil, Mining or Geologic Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Travel frequency contingent on duties and project demands.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Professional Engineer

• Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering.

Approx. 20% travel required.

• Expert knowledge of CAD/CADD (3D/4D) software and practices.
• Strong engineering design principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Expert knowledge of federal, state and local regulations.

Pay Range Minimum: $99,237

Pay Range Maximum: $173,680
