Senior Electrical Engineer - Data Center Facilities
BRUNS-PAK is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in the design of electrical systems for Data Centers and Mission Critical Facilities. The ideal candidate should possess a solid background in designing electrical service, generators, switch gear, UPS systems, transformers, PDUs, and other mission critical equipment, incorporating reliability and redundancy into their designs.
OverviewBRUNS-PAK is an engineering firm providing consulting, design/build, and commissioning services for data center and IT infrastructure projects across the United States, Canada, and Europe. Our solutions balance ultra-reliability with QoS, energy efficiency, and total cost of ownership considerations.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop electrical systems for Data Center Facilities, ensuring reliability, redundancy, and efficiency.
- Utilize AutoCAD and potentially Revit for design and documentation.
- Apply diverse engineering principles to a variety of related assignments.
- Make informed and independent decisions regarding engineering methods and techniques.
- Consult with supervisor on critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters, seeking guidance as needed.
- Develop test procedures and provide support during the commissioning of electrical equipment.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the field of Data Center Facilities. Junior Electrical Engineer – 10-15 years;
Senior Electrical Engineer – 15+ years. - Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D design is essential; experience with Revit design is a plus.
- Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is usually required for this position (Senior).
- Extensive experience in designing electrical systems for Data Center Facilities.
- Strong knowledge of Generators, Switchgear, UPS Systems, Transformers, PDUs, and other mission critical equipment.
- Ability to integrate reliability and redundancy into electrical system designs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to apply engineering principles to diverse assignments.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical solutions to diverse audiences, both orally and in writing.
- Full-time in-office position (not remote or virtual).
- Normal business hours:
Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. - Project-related travel.
