The Position

Our banking client is seeking a Mortgage Loan Manager in Edison, NJ. The successful candidate will oversee the loan application process, ensure proper collection of information, and manage the Correspondent Lending Program. Responsibilities include gathering HMDA data and preparing related reports.

This position offers a salary of up to $85K and an excellent benefits package. (Please note, this is not a remote position).

Mortgage Loan Manager responsibilities include:
  • Assist walk-in or phone customers with loan information and applications.
  • Complete pre-qualification letters for qualifying customers upon request.
  • Run initial Loan Advisor AUS when pre-qualifications are requested.
  • Review applications and request additional information as needed.
  • Maintain communication with applicants during processing and closing.
  • Act as liaison between the loan processing department and branches.
  • Assist branches with questions and loan information requests.
  • Gather HMDA data and prepare reports.
  • Update Loan Origination System (LOS) and submit change requests.
  • Upload daily rates and prepare weekly rate sheets.
  • Assist the Residential Lending Manager with projects.
  • Prepare various reports as required.
  • Maintain declined/withdrawn files.
  • Manage loan pipeline, including lock management and selling loans to lenders like FHLMC.
  • Register received loans from lenders and maintain purchase pipelines.
  • Coordinate between lenders and underwriting.
  • Ensure compliance in all job functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and experience include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
  • 3-5 years of mortgage customer service experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Loan Prospector, and loan tracking systems.
  • Knowledge of FHLMC guidelines and lending regulations.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
