Universal Banker I – Full‑Time – Raritan Center, Edison, NJ

Pay Range: $22.00/hr – $27.44/hr

Summary: As a Universal Banker you will provide a full range of banking services to retail customers, including both transactional and non‑transactional processes. You will offer customers a personal banking experience while supporting the branch’s goals.

• Process all banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, cashing checks, money orders, selling money orders, gift and bank checks, loan payments, and safe deposit box rentals. All transactions are processed through Columbia Bank’s on‑line terminals.
• Open new deposit and checking accounts and explain products to customers; handle deceased accounts and assist with file maintenance and daily platform documentation.
• Discuss personal financial needs with customers, recommend bank products, cross‑sell services, and interact with other bank departments. Provide in‑person or telephone support to resolve customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring satisfaction.
• Prepare daily proof sheets at close of business and assist with end‑of‑day closing procedures, including branch consolidation sheet and document imaging.
• Maintain accurate customer and account records, safe deposit box records, back‑office work, and ordering checks.
• Make referrals to Wealth Management, First Jersey Title, Mortgage Origination, and other departments as appropriate.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma required;
  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance preferred.
• 1–2 years of retail or customer‑service experience.
• Interpersonal, time‑management, organizational, and PC skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Availability to work weekends as needed or scheduled.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
• Must attend mandatory training; continued employment contingent upon passing training classes.

Universal Banker positions require either part‑time or full‑time training for 10 business days. Training schedules are based on availability.
