Pharmacy Manager

Overview

Pharmacy Manager role vides empathetic pharmacy consulting services to patients regarding the effective use of medications and drug interaction awareness. Offers preventive and clinical healthcare services, including immunizations, diagnostic testing, and patient outcome services. Ensures prescribed medications are compounded, reviewed, dispensed, and verified accurately according to regulatory guidelines and company policies and procedures.

  Engage patients, greet and assist with products and services, resolve issues promptly, and ensure a positive patient experience.
• Customer Service Leadership:
  Model best practices to deliver a distinctive, empathetic patient experience and promote Walgreens service traits.
• Clinical Services:
  Lead patient consultations, medication management, drug therapy reviews, immunizations, diagnostic testing, and wellness services; shift Walgreens pharmacy role from transactional to interpersonal.
• Operations:
  Counsel on medication usage, safety, privacy, generics, and OTC products; perform compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management; ensure regulatory compliance and efficient workflow; manage staffing, scheduling, and opening/closing the pharmacy.
• Compliance & IT:
  Maintain knowledge of pharmacy systems, support staff and patients with IT, and identify productivity improvements; ensure insurance claims processing accuracy and handle third-party audits.
• People & Performance:
  Hire, train, and manage pharmacy staff; oversee performance reviews and development.
• Training & Development:
  Maintain licenses/credentials; pursue ongoing professional development; complete required trainings.

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm
  
  D from an accredited institution.
• Current pharmacist licensure in the district states.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become one within 90 days of hire.
• At least 1 year of pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, compliance, operations, software, and insurance billing.
• Experience dispensing prescriptions in accordance with state and federal laws.
• Leadership indicators: professional performance history with positive leadership ratings where applicable.
